Once Upon a Wish! Evening for Education Gala A wonderful event to make a difference in a child’s education was held on March 3, 2018 as Sanger Family Dentistry presented Once Upon a Wish Gala raising over $84,000.00 in funding for classroom initiatives, benefiting every student across Sanger ISD. The event was held at The Campsite at McClain’s RV with over 300 guests in attendance and was a tremendous success as supporters, businesses, Sanger ISD Administration, teachers and grant recipients came together to support public education and the students of Sanger. The evening began with Dinner Stations featuring local restaurants that showcased their specialty cuisines. The dinner stations included Babe’s Chicken House, Miguelito’s Mexican Restaurant, Parker Brothers Trail Dust Steak House, Pellegrino’s Italian Ristorante, Southern BBQ, Radical Hospitality Group, and Bolivar St. BBQ. All were a fantastic success with gala attendees and for the participating restaurants. The Foundation would like to THANK THE PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS and encourage you to visit these great local restaurants if you have not already done so. Their entrees and side dishes were amazing!!! To add to the dining experience, the event also included the “Dessert Frenzy” which provided not only a tempting dessert but extra entertainment as tables vied for the winning bid. The gala, sponsored by Sanger Family Dentistry, offered a signature silent auction and an incredible line up of items offered through the live auction. The Once Upon a Wish “Evening For Education” Gala was a successful endeavor that was accomplished with over 300 guests in attendance. Thanks to everyone who volunteered, donated, bought and supported the Gala in any capacity. It’s not the size of the gift that matters; it’s that every gift matters! The annual Gala is the sole event the Sanger Education Foundation presents to raise funds, inform supporters about the needs of the district and celebrates the success within our Sanger ISD classrooms. The Foundation, through the support of donors from all areas, has funded over $849,000 in Classroom Initiatives, Student Scholarships, Fellowships, Staff Development, Donor Directed Programs and District Curriculum since the first award in 2007. Through a grant application review process, select Foundation Committee members review proposed grant applications and determine awards. Even though the Gala was a tremendous success, it is just one means in which a donor or supporter can make a difference in a Child’s Tomorrow. The Foundation is your foundation, your legacy to the students of Sanger ISD. The Foundation would like to encourage area business owners, parents, grandparents and members of the Sanger Community to join those volunteering with the Foundation.
