All the opposed incumbents won their re-election terms for Sanger school board and city council on Saturday, May 6. Both school board members Jarrod Roberts and Mitch Hammonds beat out Jessica Baird Allbritton and James A. Tuberville with 75% and 66% of the votes. Incumbent Bruce Elsey was unopposed.
Marissa Barrett had 67% of the voting against Joe Falls for city council. Incumbents Dennis Dillon and Victor Gann were unopposed.
It was a low turnout for this election. There were just over 400 votes for early voting and just over 200 voted on election day. Persons that live outside the city limits can’t cast a ballot for city council and that is why there were about half the votes, compared to school board.
