Sanger Historical Society requesting donations of Sanger ISD Yearbooks

The Sanger Area Historical Society and Museum has a large collection of Sanger ISD school yearbooks located in the museum which are quite popular for the visitors.  “Our oldest yearbook is dated 1934 of which we are very proud to own,” said Tona Batis.  “We continually reach out and ask for donations of school yearbooks but are missing many of the years.

“Often times when family members pass away, these yearbooks are discarded or perhaps just don’t have a need for their collection any longer. Listed below are the years that they are missing in the collection:

“If you have any of these missing years we need in order to complete our collection, and wish to donate, you may contact us at the museum.  They can be delivered or mailed to us at the following address:  SAHS, 211 N. 5th Street, Sanger, TX  76266.”

Batis said, “We are unsure what year the Sanger schools began publishing yearbooks for the students.  Our earliest yearbook is from 1934 and have no information that any were published prior to this time.  Should anyone know what year the annuals began, we would appreciate that information.”

There are plans for making these yearbooks available for viewing to the public in the near future. In the meantime, the yearbooks are a popular part of the Sanger Museum and they invite you to come visit on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
