The TPWD Fire Team conducted a prescribed burn last week at Lake Ray Roberts’ Isle Du Bois State Park. The park remained open for day use and camping. However, the Equestrian trail between the Greenbelt 455 access and Bluestem Grove Campground as well as the Lost Pines Trail area were closed last Monday through Tuesday. Large plumes of smoke will be generated that can be seen for several miles. Smoke could be seen from Sanger. Prescribed fire is a widely used tool to effectively and efficiently manage the natural resources in order to help restore natural processes and control invasive species.
